Worker Trapped By Partial Building Collapse In Bridgeport: UPDATE
The incident occurred Monday morning on Stratford Avenue, according to fire officials. Update.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 35-year-old construction worker suffered a lower leg injuries Monday morning when a brick wall of a building collapsed on him in Bridgeport, according to fire officials.
The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. at 1068 Stratford Ave., when a wall in the basement collapsed on the victim.
Firefighters were called to the scene and witnessed a second collapse.

"While working to remove the patient, a second collapse occurred at 9:45 am.," wrote Tiadora Josef, the city's director of Public Information, in a statement. "The patient, a 35-year-old male, was extracted from the collapse, was alert and conscious, and was transported to the hospital with lower leg injuries."
An initial report mentioned the worker was trapped underneath industrial machinery.

"Bridgeport Fire Department would like to thank all the first responders who worked diligently together to bring this patient to safety," Josef said.
