Canton Schools To Be 'Crushed' By Harlem Hoopsters

Tickets are on sale now for a Nov. 27 benefit basketball game pitting the Harlem Wizards against a team of Canton school staffers.

CANTON, CT — Tickets are on sale for the local community to watch a team of Canton school employees get "Crushed" by a world-famous showtime basketball squad.

The Canton Crushers, made up of Canton Superintendent of Schools Jordan Grossman and a team of school system teachers and staff, will take on the Harlem Wizards at Canton High School on Monday, Nov 27, at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of "great fun and fundraising."

Event proceeds will raise money for the Canton High School Substance-Free Graduation Party this year.

And while the "Crushers" will try and win, most likely, the Wizards will do so with their special brand of showtime hoops. The point spread for this game is, likely, incalculable.

"The energy at a Wizards game is electric and the laughter is infectious," reads an announcement on the game. "The dunks are rim-rattling, high-flying and awe-inspiring."

And, for the record, the Wizards ... not the Crushers ... are expected to be doing the dunking.

Throughout the game, audience members will be asked to volunteer in different contests and skits.

Meanwhile, all students can come onto the court for a dance celebration with the Wizards at the end of the night.

"Founded in 1962, the Wizards have played over 15,000 games throughout the US that have raised over $25 million for schools and charitable causes," reads the announcement. "The Wizards have also played in over 25 foreign countries on six continents."
