CANTON, CT — Local Republicans are looking for a new Canton Board of Education member to fill a vacancy, with the deadline to apply this week.

The Canton Board of Education aims to fill an unexpired term on its board through November 2025.

Because the slot is to replace a Republican, applicants must be registered as a Republican or Unaffiliated voter in the Town of Canton.

"As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational policies and priorities of the school district, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education to all students," wrote the Canton school board in an announcement.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and supporting documents to Lou Daniels, chairman of the Canton Board of Education by Friday, March 1.
