Collinsville Resident Organizes Marriage Equality Rally

In early February, Collinsville resident Chivas Sandage began planning Marriage Equality Rally (CT), one of 150 such events set to take place around the country next Monday. 

Early on, Sandage struggled to find participants but said event planning has really taken off.

"I started organizing this Hartford rally on Feb. 9 because I couldn’t imagine Connecticut not being part of this exciting and historic national movement," Sandage said. "However, until nine days ago, I was still struggling to find co-organizers. Then, one person stepped up and offered to help, then another, and so it continued. One week later, we have numerous featured speakers, a team of co-organizers, and a very active Facebook event page at which the RSVP count continues to rise."

The event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Federal Courthouse 450 Main St., Hartford on Monday, March 25. Rain date is the next day. Find out more at the event's facebook page or http://www.csandage.com/marriage-equality-rally-ct/
