David A. Bristol Sr. Dies

The town has lost an iconic figure with the death of David A. Bristol Sr. 

Bristol was a Naval veteran, well-known farmer and a Canton High School graduate. He was also a past Master and long-time member of the Village Lodge #29 in Collinsville AF & AM, according to his obituary. 

As his obituary notes, the sweet corn from Bristol's farm was long a favorite of many in the area. 

"He was always nice, friendly — and grew damn good corn," said lifelong resident Julius Fialkiewicz. 

A service will be held at Carmon Avon Funeral Home and Family Center Friday and a celebration of life on Saturday March 23. Donations can be made to the Canton Food Bank. For details and online condolences see the notice at the Carmon web site.
