CANTON, CT — The local library has a rather unique contest this week to celebrate National Library Week.

From now until Saturday, folks can stop by the Canton Public Library and peek inside a jar at the 40 Dyer Ave. site.

While they don't have to guess how many marbles or jelly beans are inside, they do have to identify a chopped-up book placed in the jar.

The pages still feature the words of the book, and they can be read, but they're all slashed and out of order.

All people need to do is try and figure out the title.

One winner will be chosen and they will receive "a little something" from the library.

To help folks out, the library even posted a picture of the jar on social media, so folks can get a head start.

And, in case people are wondering, the book wasn't destroyed, according to library officials.

"Don’t worry; it was a worn-out copy that was destined for the recycling bin anyway," wrote the library this week.
