Major Road Maintenance Work Starts In Canton

Weather permitting, the project will impact several streets in Canton for the next week.

CANTON, CT — A major road maintenance project was supposed to start Monday, weather permitting.

Regardless, however, multiple roads will be impacted this week, according to the Canton Department of Public Works.

The DPW Said the following Town roads will be crack-sealed: Birch Knoll Road, Center Street, Huckleberry Hill Road, Simonds Avenue, Washburn Road and the Canton Town Hall Parking Lot.

Construction activities will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and the work will continue for approximately a week, weather permitting.

"We ask that no cars be parked on the road during the construction times mentioned above," wrote Canton's DPW.

"The roadway will be open to local traffic at all times during construction, with possible delays."
