Canton Schools Closed Friday

National Weather Service predicts daytime snow of 1 to 3 inches.

Due to the snow, there is no school in Canton today (Friday March 8), Superintendent Kevin Case said.

In addition to the snow that fell overnight, the National Weather Service is predicting more precipitation will fall, mostly before 1 p.m., leaving 1 to 3 inches of daytime accumulation. A north wind will be 13 to 18 miles per hour with a high near 39, the service states.

Today's closing pushes the last day of school back to June 21. Case confirmed that it does not effect April vacation but any further closings would, beginning with Monday, April 15, according to Board of Education policy.
