Simsbury officials released some information about this year's leaf collection:
- There will be only one collection per neighborhood.
- All leaves must be contained in biodegradable paper bags. You can buy these at most hardware stores, grocery stores, and larger retailers.
- Under no circumstances should you blow or rake your leaves into the road.
- Wait to place bagged leaves curbside until the night before, or by 6 a.m. on the morning of your street's collection.
- No items should be placed in the street or in any way block a sidewalk.
- Residents can also bring bagged leaves and grass clippings to the bulky waste facility during normal hours at no charge (just bring proof of residency). The facility is open to residents on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
