CANTON, CT — The 2023-24 local Connecticut Fire Prevention Poster Contest winner is Claire Mason, a fifth-grade student at Canton Intermediate School.

Claire's poster was selected as the best in portraying a positive fire safety message.

The contest is a collaborative effort of local, state, and private fire safety officials.

The Canton Office of the Fire Marshal thanks the Shoppes at Farmington Valley for their prize donation.

The office also thanked Canton Intermediate School Art Teacher Deb Costello for her continued support of making this contest a success.

Claire's poster moved on to the county level of the contest, where she was a winner for Hartford County.
