Back To School: Cheshire 2025-26 School Calendar

Summer is coming to a close, and here are some of the important 2025-26 school year dates to get on the calendar.

CHESHIRE, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Cheshire, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Cheshire Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.

The first day of school for most students in Cheshire is Thursday, Aug. 21.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

  • First Day: Aug. 21
  • Labor Day, no school: Sept. 1
  • Rosh Hashanah, no school: Sept. 23
  • Yom Kippur, no school: Oct. 2
  • Indigenous Peoples' Day/Italian American Day, no school: Oct. 13
  • Election Day / Staff Professional Development, no school for students: Nov. 4
  • Thanksgiving Break, no school: Nov. 27-28
  • Winter Break, no school: Dec. 24 – Jan. 2
  • Martin Luther King Day, no school: Jan. 19
  • Presidents’ Day / February Break: Feb. 16 – 17
  • Staff Professional Development, no school for students: March 20
  • Good Friday, no school: April 3
  • Spring Break, no school: April 6-10
  • Memorial Day, no school: May 25
  • Projected Last Student Day: June 4

Note: Snow days will be made up June 5-12 (6 days). Additional snow days needed beyond these 6 days will begin with April 10 and move backward to April 8 (3 days). Final determination will be made based on construction conditions.
