Bear Euthanized After Biting Woman In Cheshire: Reports
The woman was sitting in her backyard when the incident occurred, police said.
CHESHIRE, CT — A black bear was euthanized after biting a woman Saturday in Cheshire, according to reports.
The bear made contact with the woman — who was sitting in her backyard Saturday afternoon in the area of Cornwall and Oak avenues — before fleeing south, police said, adding the animal was slow moving and did not appear healthy.
State environmental officials helped police find the bear, according to law enforcement.

The woman suffered minor injuries but declined treatment, WFSB reported.
State conservation police euthanized the animal and turned it over to biologists for an initial necropsy, according to WTNH, which reported the bear will undergo additional testing.
