[UPDATE] Cheshire Community Pool to Reopen Monday
Full schedule of classes and activities to resume.
The lifeguards are back and classes will resume Monday when the opens at 6 a.m.
The pool has been closed since the summer season was extended until mid-October. Winter swimming hasn't been offered for more than a year after the inflatable bubble over the pool collapsed on Jan. 12, 2010 from a heavy snow load.
"People should come in and see it," said Aquatics Director Sheila Adams. "It's so much nicer than the last one. It's bright," she added.

The new fabric bubble has a blue stripe running around the bottom near the pool deck that helps reduce glare, Adams said.
Ten lifeguards who were laid off when the pool closed have returned to work, Adams said, as has front desk attendent Karen Piedescalzo.

Classes will resume on the day of the week and the time they had originally been scheduled, Adams said. For instance, session B of Parent and Child Aquatics, which was to have begun on Jan.11, will begin on Wed., Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m. The classes will run for five weeks, until mid-March, Adams said.
Family Fun Week will be held during the winter school break from Feb. 20-24 Hours are 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $1 a person or $5 a family.
The reopening will come just in time for the boys swim team to hold their first home meet of the season in Cheshire on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
