CHESHIRE, CT — Below are recent death notices from Cheshire.

Sai Kumari Durvasula née Gunupudi, 80, died July 14, 2025. An award-winning orator, economist, adjunct professor, consultant, and longtime Yale staff member, she also volunteered in education, practiced her Hindu faith, traveled extensively, and was renowned for her Andhra cooking and sharp wit.

Audrey Janet Buttery, 91, died July 15, 2025. A Cheshire resident for most of her life, she worked in retail and as a former aide at Elim Park.

Stephen Ushchak, 92, died July 19, 2025. A skilled carpenter, union member, and farmer who built his home and life on family land, he was also a licensed hot-air balloon pilot, avid polka and square dancer, skier, accordion enthusiast, and devoted member of multiple Catholic parishes and community clubs.

Paul David MacKnight, 84, died July 20. He worked for 35 years at the Record Journal, served in the U.S. Army in Korea, earned a degree in accounting, and enjoyed playing sports, following pro teams, woodworking, yard work, and solving The Jumble.

Lynda Louise Trocchio Giarratana, 68, died July 23, 2025. She worked in accounting at Jarvis Manufacturing and spent her time quilting, sewing, crafting cards, baking, collecting Elvis memorabilia, boating, fishing, attending beach concerts, and exploring flea markets.

Judith Anne Rowinski, 83, died July 25, 2025; a primary school teacher for over 55 years in CT and IL, she was the founding first grade teacher at St. Bridget School in 1994, later assistant principal, and devoted her life to education, faith instruction, and community volunteering.
