Occupation:

Accountant 25 years

Family:
Married one child

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
None

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Board of Education 8 years

Why are you seeking this office?
To continue my mission to hold school administrators accountable and bring voice to our students, their parents and the citizens of Cheshire.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Redistricting and opening new schools. I intend to use my extensive experience from my last eight years of service to make the best Decisions possible to have a one time, effective and long lasting redistricting of our elementary schools. I also will ensure that our new schools open on time and on budget.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have been on the board of education almost the entire time my child has been in Cheshire Public Schools. I have extensive knowledge of all aspects of each level of the educational experience. Now is not the time for on the job training. Cheshire deserves experienced servants who will see the new school openings through and use that knowledge to make the best decisions possible when finalizing our redistricting plan.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Taxes have increased by 12.9% over the last two years. 80% of the town budget is education. I pledge to Cheshire that I will continue to be a watchdog of your money and do whatever I can to bring restraint back to our budget.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
By holding Administration accountable, Cheshire has become a leader in post COVID academic learning loss recovery and is now one of the best school systems in the state.

Worked with Administration to keep our Schools open as long as possible during the Pandemic

Enacted new policy to strengthen CPS response to bullying of all kinds

Worked with Administration to keep spending in check while achieving academic excellence and providing fantastic value for our citizens

Worked with the Community to build new schools, on time and on budget

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Always give back. Service is one of the best things you can do for a community.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have lived in Cheshire for over 40 years. As a graduate of Cheshire Public Schools I know what has made CPS great and how it should grow in the future. I hold a degree in finance from Bentley University and a Masters of Public Administration from Penn State University. I understand what good government should be and I pledge to continue to be a voice for the students, parents and citizens of Cheshire.
