Occupation:
Health and Safety Professional
Family:
I have a terrific wife Doro, and two awesome kids, Dale and Danica who are attending our great Cheshire schools
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No
Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Cheshire Zoning Board of Appeals 2017-2023
Why are you seeking this office?
I am a firm believer in a common sense approach in resolving town zoning issues with our neighbors. The ability to work with and strengthen our community by interpreting regulations using common sense helps our families and businesses thrive, which is very important to me. Regulations are there as a baseline, but looking at individual situations might call for exceptions, something I am used to doing on a regular basis in my field of work. Anyone can enforce a regulation, but it takes experience and time to do the right thing. Having a balance of great neighborhoods and schools as well as a strong business community lowers the financial tax burdens on our families, creating stability and a more prosperous future for everyone. This is why I am running for Zoning Board of Appeals and look forward to serving our Cheshire community.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Overdevelopment, I plan on listening to the interested parties and making a decision on what is best for the town and local community.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have over 25 years of experience in working with people in tough situations and can handle difficult decisions.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Bringing transparency up front with decision making so that that our community understands what is going on with town government
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have had to make many decisions with local zoning appeals applications through the years and was successful in making the right decisions for the town in my view.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Be honest, upfront, and respectful to every person you meet.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
My educational background is a BS in Biology, Susquehanna University and a MS in Occupational Health and Safety Management / Industrial Hygiene, University of New Haven. My profession as a Safety Professional at Yale EHS for the last 25 years has been an enlightening experience. Outside of work, I enjoy Hiking, Biking, Skiing, and Traveling with my family and serve as the Vice President for the FCRTTA representing Cheshire (Farmington Canal Heritage Trail).
