Cheshire Man Facing Drug Charges

A motor vehicle stop in February led to a warrant that was served this week.

A Cheshire man was arrested on a warrant this week stemming from a motor vehicle stop last February.

Eric Bond, 28, of 482 Oak Ave., Apt. 57, Cheshire, was charged last weekend with possession of narcotics and illegal manufacture, distribution, sale of narcotics. 

Bond's was stopped in late Februrary by Hamden Police Officer Edward Stoor saw a car speeding on Whitney Avenue at about 11:45 p.m., according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. Stoor pulled the car over near the Cheshire town line, Smith said.

During the investigation, Stoor found in the car 169 Oxycodone pills, Smith said. 

At the time, Bond was issued a summons for reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle without insurance, but Stoor continued the investigation, which led to the application of a warrant for Bond’s arrest, Smith said.

Last weekend the Connecticut State Police pulled Bond over on Interstate I-91 and detained him for Hamden Police, Smith said, who responded and served him the warrant. 

Bond is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on June 8.
