Cheshire Police Warn Of Crypto Currency Scam

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire police are advising residents of a “crypto currency scam” that is taking place in Connecticut.

“The scammers are sending out emails regarding hacked devices, saying that you have looked up inappropriate information/sites and are trying to extort you for imagines that they have captured from your devices,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Please be aware of this scam and do not give them money or personal information. The email may have your name and a picture of your property attached.”
