Cheshire Police Warn Residents Of ‘Elder Scams’

Police said there are people posing as law enforcement on the phone as part of the scam.

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire police are warning residents of an ongoing elder scam in which people are posing a law enforcement via the phone to “steal money.”

“They will be asking for large amounts of money to make the case go away,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Please be aware that law enforcement would never do this or ask for money! Make your relatives aware of scamming.”
