The end of summer is approaching for Cheshire students. Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar.
CHESHIRE, CT — The end of summer is rapidly approaching for Cheshire students, and it’s once again time to prepare for the upcoming school year.
The first day of school in Cheshire Public Schools is Thursday, Aug. 29, according to the 2024-25 district school calendar.
Here are some of the other important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

- First Day: Aug. 29
- Labor Day, no school: Sept. 2.
- Rosh Hashanah, no school: Oct. 3
- Indigenous Peoples’ Day / Italian American Day, no school: Oct. 14
- Election Day / Professional Development Day, no school for students: Nov. 5
- Thanksgiving Break, no school: Nov. 28-29
- Winter Break, no school: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
- Martin Luther King Day, no school: Jan. 20
- Presidents’ Day / February Break, no school: Feb. 17-18
- Professional Development Day, no school for students: March 21
- Spring Break, no school: April 14-17
- Good Friday, no school: April 18
- Memorial Day, no school: May 26
- Projected Last Student Day: June 10
Note: Snow days will be made up June 11 – 30 (14 days). Additional snow days needed beyond these 14 days will begin with April 17 and move backward.
