Cheshire Residents Could Vote Next Month On Purchase Of South Main Street Property

Report: voters may have the chance to vote on the purchase come fall.

CHESHIRE, CT - Residents could have the chance to vote on the purchase of a South Main Street property as early as September, according to a report.

According to MyRecordJournal.com, the Town Council could put the referendum question before town voters as early as September, instead of holding off until November.

Voters would say whether or not they support the town paying $1.5 million to buy a 10-acre property currently owned by Richard Chapman, the Journal reports. The land, located next to a park, would go for a total of $3 million, half of which has already been set aside by the town, the report states.
