Cheshire Restaurant Owner Named Small Business Person Of The Year

CHESHIRE, CT — A Cheshire restaurateur has been named Connecticut's 2022 Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Association's Connecticut District Office.
Viron Rondos, who owns Italian restaurant Viron Rondo Osteria in Cheshire, was announced as the winner in a press release last week. "Small Business Person of the Year" is the highest award in the annual competition, officials said.
Rondos and the other award winners will be highlighted at a private reception during National Small Business Week (May 2-6), officials said.

"We are in the news and so thankful for the support from our guests, a staff that wouldn't give up and the SBA and others in the state who contributed to this success," restaurant officials wrote on Facebook.
Additionally, the Hartford Courant reported that Rondos will compete against other state's winners for the title of "National Small Business Owner of the Year," which will be announced in late April or early May.

"We are extremely excited to honor a truly amazing line up of small business owners and champion this year," Catherine Marx, SBA's Connecticut District Director, said in a statement. "It is important to recognize these outstanding entrepreneurs in Connecticut as they are the job creators, innovators, and the fabric of our local communities."
William Pastyrnak of Cheshire's Counter Weight Brewing Co. was awarded as well, winning "Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year."
