The two-year old volunteer effort has been so successful, Mahan sent aout 500 dresses to girls around the world. On Wednesday she mailed about 300 dresses to South Carolina which will be loaded on a ship that will travel to Cambodia. "We have a request for 10,000 dresses and the deadline to ship them to the port in South Carolina is the end of August," Mahan wrote in her blog. Volunteers on Saturday were able to nearly finish 60 more dresses, Mahan added.
