[UPDATE] Cheshire's Public Works Director Leaving Job

Long-time department head Joe Michelangelo is taking job in another town.

After nearly a decade as the town's Public Works director, Joe Michelangelo announced he has tenatively accepted a job in another town.

Here's a statement Michelangelo released about his decision:

“I have received and accepted an offer from another employer. However, it is conditional upon a background check, pre-employment physical, etc. and it is not official yet. Since both Michael Milone and myself were both going away on vacation on 8/4/12, I wanted to informally notify him and the Town Council so there would be sufficient time to begin planning a smooth transition within the Cheshire Public Works Department. When everything is finalized with my new employer I'll have a better idea of my last day in Cheshire, but I expect that it will be some time in early September.”

Milone shared his appreciation on Tuesday because he said Michelangelo will not be on the job at the next council meeting in September.
