Cheshire Soldier Serving in Kuwait

Cheshire native, 2nd Lt. Susan M. Kosakowski, a health services administrator, received medical training recently at at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. She is being shown a combat application tourniquet by specialists with the 203rd Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division.

The USO reports that troops typically spend one to three weeks training at Camp Buehring here before deploying into Iraq. The camp is just 10 miles south of the Iraq border.

Here are some of the services offered to the troops:

• 17 Satellite Phones and 2 DSN Phones.
• 19 Computers with Internet Access.
• 12 PS3 stations with a large selection of the newest games.
• Music Room featuring: Acoustic, Electric, and Bass guitars; a drum set, and a keyboard as well as how to books.
