Cheshire Soldier to Reunite with Platoon

Wounded soldier Josh Budd to visit unit in Alaska.

Army Spc. Josh Budd of Cheshire continues to heal from injuries he received nearly a year ago in Afghanistan. He's also venturing out to enjoy his hobbies and do some traveling.

In early May, Budd will head to Alaska, to reunite with his platoon who is returning from Afghanistan. His mother, Barbara Budd writes on her online journal that her son also traveled last week to Aspen to try out some adaptive skiing.

Budd, who was a junior firefighter with the Cheshire Fire Department, is also about to start an intership with the fire department at the Fort Myers Army Base in Maryland, his mother wrote. His father, Dave Budd, is a life member of the Cheshire department.
