CHS Boys CC Teams Compete At SCC Championships On 10-18-23.

The 2023 Fall Cheshire High School Boys Varsity CC Team Won 3rd Place at the SCC Championship In New Haven 10-18-23.

CHS Student CC JV Athlete Connor Rayball Heads For The Finish Line At The Cheshire Park Meet On 10-13-23.  At The 10-18-23 Meet The JV Team Won 8th Place. He Finished 77th Time 22:14.50. Behind Him Are His Teammates Colin Daley & Jack Wheelahan.

The 2023 Fall Cheshire High School Boys Varsity Cross Country Team Won 3rd Place at the SCC Championship at East Shore Park in New Haven on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The top five teams were 1st Place Xavier 40, 2nd Place Guilford 112, 3rd Place Cheshire 125, 4th Place Hamden 130 & 5th Place Notre Dame 167.

The top finishers for the CHS Varsity Cross Country Team were coming in 11th Place Student-Athlete Quad Captain & Senior Daniel D’Souza with a time of 16:55.60. Coming in 15th Place for CHS was Student-Athlete Quad Captain & Senior Tyler Caron with a time of 17:13.2, James Boyd 18th Place 17:26.4, 27th Place Quad Captain & Senior Jack Lengyel 17:52.3, 54th Place Quad Captain & Senior Brian Krzanowski 18:44.6, 58th Place Zachary Chasen 18:47.5 and in 64th Place Hanan Talipan-Pinedo 19:03.6.

Quad Captain & Senior Daniel D’Souza claimed 1st Team All SCC Honors with his 11th Place finish. Quad Captain & Senior Tyler Caron and Junior James Boyd won 2nd Team All SCC Honors for their 15th & 18th Place Finishes.

Head Coach Pam Gunneson commented about her team’s 3rd Place win on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. “I am thrilled with Cheshires 3rd place finish. The boys worked very hard to achieve this result. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams' finishes were so close and made for an exciting race in the very competitive SCC league. It is an excellent lead up to the State Class Championship Meet next Saturday October 28th at Wickham Park in Manchester.”

Turning to the CHS JV team’s competition in New Haven they made the Top Ten Teams coming in with their 8th Place Finish with 222 points. The top scorers were 42nd Mateo Dore 22:51.5, 43rd Colin Daley 20:52.50, 55th Jack Wheelahan 21:20, 62nd Dylan Scalise 21:49.40, 65th Domenic Martone 21:31.40, 70th Jeffrey Yam 21:49.20, 73rd Gabe Njeim 22:00.70,
77th Connor Rayball 22:14.50, 81st Elias Vuorio 22:20.20, 82nd Anthony Mariani 22:22.40, & 103rd Bennett Radshaw.

For the Frosh Student-Athletes Raine Ma came in 12th Place with a time of 20:08.9 and Miquel Monreal finished in 14th Place with a time of 21:03.5.

The next event for the CHS Boys Cross Country Team will be the Class L State Meet on October 28, 2023 in Manchester.
