CHS Boys Varsity Volleyball Team Competed On Friday, June 9, 2023

The 2023 Cheshire High School Boys Varsity Volleyball Team had a lot to be proud of this season. They had an extremely successful season. Their regular season record was 16 wins and 4 losses. They won the 2023 SCC Championship against Shelton on May 26, 2023, after losing to them last year.

According to their Head Coach Sue Bavone ``We improved from start to finish. We got us here tonight," the state Volleyball Tournament. They defeated Xavier High of Middletown two times compared to 2022 when both teams tied each other in this series. Then, the Falcons defeated them again in the postseason play in 2022. Plus, they defeated Daniel Hand High School of Madison two times this year.

On June 6, 2023, they defeated Farmington High School in the Semi-Finals leading to Friday's night's game. And they made it to the 2023 CIAC State Boys Volleyball Tournament on Friday, June 9, 2023. The only issue was the end result. "We did not pass well. On defense most of the night," commented Bavone.

In the first match between Cheshire High School & Masuk High School the score was Masuk 25-Cheshire 18. Second match Masuk 25 Cheshire 19. Third match Masuk 25-Cheshire 15.

The Cheshire Varsity Boys Volleyball Team won the 2023 Class M Runner Up Award for their hard work this season. Plus, each member of the team received medals for their efforts and for going the distance in the CIAC Post Season Playoffs. That says a lot about this team. Their hard work did pay off.
