Prior to Monday’s State Open meet Rob Schaefer the Head Coach for CHS Girls Cross Country Team commented about his hopes for the meet. “Only 20 teams qualify for the Open out of approximately 150 schools that have CC teams. Making the Open is always an amazing accomplishment. We are so happy to have made the Open. We believe we have a chance to continue by finishing in the top six and qualifying for the New England meet. We are certainly going to try.” His team certainly did. They won 2nd Place. In 2022 they won 9th Place at the State Open and this year’s team won 2nd Place. That is a huge improvement.
