Off-Duty Firefighter Helps Injured Driver After Head-On Crash In Cheshire: Report

An off-duty firefighter sprang into action and helped an injured driver after a head-on crash in Cheshire, according to a report.

CHESHIRE, CT — An off-duty firefighter sprang into action and helped an injured driver after a head-on crash happened in front of him earlier this week in Cheshire, according to FOX 61.

FOX 61 reports Bernie Meehan, who is the deputy chief at the Danbury Fire Department and a volunteer firefighter with the Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department, helped an injured woman until Cheshire emergency crews arrived at the scene. He was helped by two nurses and a bystander.

The crash happened Monday afternoon near Percival Drive on Route 170, just before Interstate 84, in Cheshire, according to FOX 61.
