CHESHIRE, CT — As Cheshire continues its recovery from being pummeled by Tropical Storm Isaias, Eversource had four restoration crews in town on Thursday. The crews are slated to restore power to nearly 3,700 customers, which would bring the percentage of outages down from 75 percent to 43 percent, according to Town Manager Sean M. Kimball.

“A start but still woefully inadequate,” Kimball wrote in a post on Twitter. “Need more Eversource crews to clear roads. @TownofCheshire DPW & CPD fully ready to assist at any time.”

The storm initially knocked out power to more than 95 percent of Cheshire.

“Dozens of Cheshire streets remain blocked by trees entangled in wires,” Kimball wrote. “The @TownofCheshire DPW has cleared all we can safely without Eversource crews. This will be days without more resources. Many residents desperate on oxygen, well and septic.”
