Cheshire schools were closed Monday after a report of a threat. They reopened Tuesday with an additional police presence.

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire High School will have an increased police presence on Tuesday due to a report of a threat, police said.
Police said they were "made aware of a situation" at the school Friday in which a student reported that they had seen another student with what appeared to be a handgun while in a bathroom.
Police began an investigation and reviewed video surveillance from the school to identify the students who could have been in the bathroom at the time of the incident.
