Kathryn M. Wachter Obituary

Kathryn M. Wachter, owner of "Winds of Adventure Travel" in Milford, dies at the age of 72.

Kathryn M. Wachter, age 72, beloved wife of Brian Cunningham of Orange, entered peaceful rest on October 31, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 16, 1952 in Milford and was the daughter of the late Vincent and Lois June (Campbell) Wachter. Kathy began her career as a hairdresser and owned Kathy’s Hair Salon in Woodmont and also Palm Springs, CA. Her love of traveling inspired her to open her own travel agency, Winds of Adventure Travel in Milford. She organized and escorted her clients to six different continents. Kathy also ran the travel office at the Milford Senior Center for many years. She loved golfing and walking trails with her husband and her dogs, Leo and Jameson in Orange.

In addition to her devoted husband, she leaves her stepdaughter, Rachel Cunningham and two grandchildren, Jacob and Landon. Kathy also leaves her sisters, Karen Fox and Kris Miller and her brother, Ken Wachter and his wife, Erika, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Family and friends may call on Friday, November 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Milford. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vincent C. Wachter Endowed Fund, University of New Haven, 300 Boston Post Road, West Haven, CT 06516.
