Local Couple Awarded for Support of MS Society
NBC correspondent Meredith Viera meets the Walshes of Cheshire.

Don and Jenifer Walsh of Cheshire attended the 2012 Women Against MS Luncheon in Greenwich.
During the event, Meredith Vieira, NBC special correspondent met the Walshes while attending with her husband Richard Cohen, a native of West Hartford.
Cohen was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease, more than 35 years ago. He chronicled his life battling chronic illness in the book, “Blindsided.”

At the luncheon, the couple were awarded the 2012 Georgina B. Davids Award. Cohen, who is a former senior producer for CBC News, is a three-time Emmy Award winner and recipient of numerous honors in journalism.
