Obituary: Mary J. Mongillo, 84, Of Cheshire
Mary worked for the Cheshire Public School System as a secretary for many years.

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Mary J. (O’Connor) Mongillo, 84, of Cheshire, beloved wife of the late Peter A. Mongillo, passed away on March 11, 2024. Mary was born June 12, 1939 in New Haven, CT to the late John and Hannah O’Connor.
Mary worked for the Cheshire Public School System as a secretary for many years. Mary enjoyed reading, gardening, puzzles and knitting, but ultimately most loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was also a devoted member and cared deeply for her St. Bridget of Sweden Parish community.
Mary leaves her daughter Anne Mongillo and her husband, David Fischer, of Forest Hills, N.Y., her son Peter J. Mongillo and his wife, Kathleen, of Hamden, and her son Michael Mongillo of London, UK. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Isabella, Anthony, Valentina and Spencer Mongillo and Jacob Fischer.

Mary is survived by her sisters-in-law, Gwen, Diana, Barbara and Amy; her brother-in-law John; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, John, Joseph, Robert, Raymond and Harold.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish – St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire, CT. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Rd., Cheshire, CT.
