Judith McNabb Gardner, 83, passed away on Jan. 31, 2025. She was a dedicated educator, curriculum developer, and longtime PTA president in Cheshire Public Schools, she also co-owned CATS Gymnastics for over 30 years, took pride in supporting her children’s pursuits, enjoyed dancing, reading, baking, and spoiling her grandchildren, and was known for her pumpkin bread, pies, hot fudge, cookies, carrot cake, and Christmas spirit.
Anne Iorillo Lana, 74, passed away on Jan. 26, 2025; a retired administrative manager for her family’s insurance company, she was a Hamden High graduate and Delta Sigma Phi president who enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping, and doting on her granddaughters.

Rev. Louis G. Nuechterlein, 96, passed away on Jan. 25, 2025. A longtime pastor of Cheshire Lutheran Church, he was a church musician, editor, workshop leader, and writer who contributed to Lutheran hymnals, music journals, and choral program notes while also serving in various leadership roles within the LCMS New England District.
Lilyann Hedges, 74, passed away on Jan. 23, 2025. Known for her warm nature and humor, she worked as a waitress and in the insurance industry, raised identical twin sons born on her own birthday, and faced life’s challenges with strength, faith, and devotion to her family.

Michael A. “Mickey” Arisco, 82, passed away on Jan. 23, 2025. Founder of Michael’s Greenhouses, he was a skilled mechanic, antique car collector, and influential figure in Connecticut’s greenhouse industry who took pride in farming, making homemade wine, growing the best corn, and hosting legendary Tuesday night dinners with his wife of 60 years.
Ronald T. Urquhart, 82, passed away on Jan. 22, 2025. A dedicated banking professional who rose to Senior Vice President at People’s Bank, he led its overseas credit card expansion, earned degrees while working full-time, was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus, mentored youth as a devoted Boy Scout leader, and found joy in travel, especially to the Dominican Republic.
Alec A. “Butch” Vlahos Jr., 78, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025. A proud Northeastern University graduate, he worked as a systems engineering manager at IBM, later founded Six Sigma Consulting, and dedicated his time to teaching math at Cheshire Academy and St. Bridget School, while enjoying volleyball and spending time with his grandchildren.
Maureen Frances Matyszewski, 87, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025. A retired pediatric nurse and head nurse in cardiovascular surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital, she was dedicated to her career, volunteering in multiple community roles, and enjoyed traveling, theater, and spending time with her family.
Linda Marie (White) Jones, 69, passed away on Jan. 13, 2025, at MidState Medical Center. She spent her career as a surgical technician at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Quinnipiac University, while also enjoying gardening, advocating through the Democratic Women’s Club, and connecting with neighbors.
Sandra L. Corbett, 70, passed away on Jan. 8, 2025. A retired customer service manager at Fiserv, she enjoyed golfing, quilting, crafting, cruising, birdwatching, and building lifelong friendships.
Kyum S. Pyun, M.D., 92, died on Jan. 4, 2025, at Mid-State Medical Center. A graduate of Yonsei University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he retired after 34 years at Mid-State Medical Center, including 26 years as Director of Pathology and Laboratories, and enjoyed tennis, jogging, reading, self-learning, and classical music.
Rose (Lubera) Parlock, 105, passed away on Jan. 1, 2025. A devoted wife, she was a homemaker who took pride in preparing meals for family and friends, and enjoyed participating in her daughters' activities while fostering a love for children.
Gary Charles Dayton, 82, passed away on Mon., Nov. 18, 2024. A retired elementary school teacher in Southington for over 30 years, he was a graduate of the Gilbert School and Central Connecticut State College, a devoted Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan, a passionate gardener with a collection of over 100 azaleas and rhododendrons, and a dedicated weather enthusiast who enjoyed tracking Connecticut’s changing conditions.
