Alfred E. “Fritz” Mayer, 86, died on Apr. 11, 2025. He spent 33 years as a steel salesman, skied in his youth, enjoyed summers on Martha’s Vineyard, volunteered with the high school band and church, and followed the Jets, Mets, and UConn women’s basketball.

Richard Lee Kelly, 78, died on Apr. 11, 2025. He served as a decorated U.S. Air Force Captain during Vietnam, held leadership roles in mechanical contracting including President of MJ Daly Co., volunteered as treasurer at Cheshire United Methodist Church, and enjoyed trains, yardwork, reading, and time on Vinalhaven Island.

Barbara C. Appicella, 88, died on Apr. 13, 2025. She worked at Winchester/Olin Corporation and spent her later years at Elim Park engaged in quilting, sewing, crocheting, crafting, reading, and participating in fishing and skeet shooting at Hamden Fish and Game.

Robert Keith Thatcher, 36, died on Apr. 18, 2025. He worked at Schrafel Paperboard Converting Corp. for several years but left to work construction and landscaping with his father, was passionate about motorcycle riding, beekeeping, hiking in the Northeast and Colorado, and earned the rank of Life in the Boy Scouts.

Joseph P. Kendzierski, 92, died on Apr. 19, 2025. A Navy Radioman during the Korean War and lifelong Tool and Die Maker, he was active in his parish, coached youth sports, followed Red Sox and UConn basketball, and spent retirement woodworking and crafting ornaments.

Sarah L. Longo, 36, died on Apr. 27, 2025. She was known for her quiet strength, consistently supported those around her through everyday acts of kindness, and positively impacted many through both personal relationships and her work with clients.
