Runners Support Cheshire Therapeutic Recreation

The inaugural Cheshire Half Marathon supports town program.

A donation of $500 was recently given to the town's Therapeutic Recreation Program to support year-round activities for individuals with special needs while promoting life and social skills.

with the Cheshire Parks and Recreation Department is now open. The week-long camp begins on Aug. 20.

The donations to the Cheshire program were raised during the Inaugural Cheshire Half Marathon in April. More than 2,000 runners participated, making it he largest inaugural road race in the history of Connecticut.

Cheshire Lions Club 

The check was presented at the Cheshire Parks and Recreation Department by Bill Manthey, President of the Cheshire Lions, Ryan Corey, an Abilities Without Boundaries Board member, Sarah Morocco, a Best Buddies CT Program Supervisor, and Bill Costello, an Abilities Board member and Cheshire Half Marathon Race Director.
