Scam Alert Issued In Cheshire: Here’s What To Know
Officials are advising residents of an ongoing scam that has been reported in Cheshire.
CHESHIRE, CT — Police are advising residents of an ongoing scam involving the Cheshire Planning and Zoning Department.
“We’ve been made aware of fraudulent messages (via email) going out to applicants from individuals impersonating the Planning and Zoning Department requiring additional application fees for an application to be approved,” according to a scam alert.

What you should know:
- We never ask for additional payments through wire transfer. Fees for any applications are discussed in person with the applicant.
- All email communications will come from our verified channels, such as cheshirect.gov or from OpenGov.com.
- If you receive any suspicious communication, do not click on any links or provide any information.
