Self-Defense Classes Offered To Women In Cheshire, Wallingford

The classes, which are taught by police officers, are offered by the Cheshire and Wallingford police departments.

CHESHIRE / WALLINGFORD, CT — The Cheshire and Wallingford police departments are offering self-defense classes for women in both communities in September.

The police departments are presenting the class along with the Spanish Community of Wallingford (SCOW).

“RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) is a self-defense class for women and girls aged 13 and up (13-16 with a parent),” according to a post on the Cheshire Police Department’s Facebook page. “The course, taught by Officers includes lecture, discussion, and self-defense techniques suitable for women of all ages and abilities.

“Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, and 19 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. The location will be provided to participants upon registration.”
