CHESHIRE, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Cynthia Botti, who nominated Jamie Gennusa of Cheshire. She started the Cheshire, CT Wish Fairies Facebook page.

Submitter name: Cynthia Botti

Relationship to nominee: Neighbor now friend

Reason for recognition: She saw that children needed a pick me up (families too!) in this tough time. This FB group acts as “Fairies,” delivering small baskets to houses anonymously. This has led to a chain reaction through Cheshire; it is an awesome group with many members.

One thing to know: She’s selfless and kind. She always wants to brighten someone’s day. I think she needs to be recognized.
