Single-Cup Coffee Makers Recalled

Nearly a million Tassimo Single-Cup coffee makers have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The commission said nearly 150 accidents have occurred with the brewers spraying hot liquid, coffee grounds or tea leaves onto consumers. A 10-year-old girl was hospitalized after she received second-degree burns to her face and neck while dozens of others have reported second-degree burns which didn't require hospitalization.

The burns have occured, the commission reports, when the plasic disc that holds the hot liquid and coffee grounds or tea leaves has burst.

The recall involves Tassimo brewers with the Bosch brand name and Tassimo Professional brewers.
