Head Coach Rob Schaefer was ecstatic again regarding his teams’ performance at the SCC Cross Country Championships on October 19th. “Our team was so excited. We have won 5 SCC Championships over the years. THe league has been dominated by Guilford. It is great to have beat them this year. Our top three runners did what they have been doing all year - winning. I expected them to be good. Eva Curran and Ava Ciccone ran tremendous races yesterday and really helped give us the victory. Yes, I was surprised. Going into the meet, Sacred Heart Academy was the favorite. We were a bit faster, but they were much deeper. Beating them is quite an accomplishment for our team. It was a total team effort. Cross country is an interesting sport in that although the runners are running alone, they are together as a team. As stated, we've won this 5 times now. ALL SCC first team and ALL SCC second team.”

The next event for the CHS Girls Cross Country Team will be the CIAC Class L Championships on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Manchester’s Wickham Park. Race time 9 a.m.
