Superb! CHS Boys CC Teams Find Success At 10-19-22 New Haven Meet
It was another success story for the Cheshire High School Boys CC Teams at the SCC Cross Country Championships in New Haven On 10-19-22.

It was another success story for the Cheshire High School Boys Cross Country Teams at the SCC Cross Country Championships at East Shore Park in New Haven on October 19, 2022. The varsity squad took 4th place with a score of 143, the jv team took 6th place with a score 178 & the frosh team took 2nd place with a score of 79.

The top runners for the varsity team were Tyler Caron coming in at #11 time 17:02, Colin Grevelding #24 time 17:29.50, Daniel D’Souza #27 time 17:41.60, James Boyd #33 time 17:49.80, #48 Jack Lengyel time 18:14.30, #70 Michael DeJoseph time 18:50.40, & #71 Brian Krzanowski time 18:52.50. There were a total of 122 runners for this race.
For the JV team the top CHS runners were Christophe DiNatate #41 time 20:03.50, James Ferraro #43 time 20:07.00, #48 Qasim Pasha time 20:20.90, #59 Clyde D’Souza time 20:43.60, #65 Anthony Mariani time 20:59.60, #67 Shangyu Andrew Yu time 21:30, #96 Matthew Reid time 22:34.70, & #104 Cobe Zhang time 22:53.60. This race had 140 runners.

The top athletes for the frosh team were #5 Hanan Talipan Pinedo time 19:25.60, #7 Zachary Chasen time 19:44.50, #17 Harley Guida time 20:48.80, #30 Bradley Fang time 22:09.40, #33 Jack Wheelahan time 22:26.90, #34 Dominic Martone time 22:28.30, #36 Gabe Njeim time 22:31.30, #40 Jeffrey Yam time 22:59.80, & #63 Arsh Makhdooom time 34:50.00. This race had 64 athletes.
Head Boys Coach Pam Gunneson was thrilled about her teams’ win on October 19th in New Haven. “I'm so proud of how all the boys ran and the team finished each race. I was so happy for Tyler Caron to make 1st Team All SCC honors and Colin Grevelding 2nd Team All SCC honors. Hanan Talipan - Pinedo and Zack Chasen both had excellent runs finishing 5th and 7th in the Freshman race,” stated Gunneson.
The next event for the CHS Boys Cross Country Teams will be the CIAC Class L Championships on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Manchester’s Wickham Park. Race time 9:35 a.m.
