Fatal Shooting Victim Identified After Gun Discharges Into Danbury Townhouse: Police: UPDATE
Danbury police said they're still looking for the shooter, who fled the scene Wednesday night before police could arrive.
DANBURY, CT — One person is dead in Danbury after a gun was discharged in a townhouse, sending a bullet through the wall and into a neighbor's residence.
According to the Danbury Police Department, which issued a release Thursday morning, police were called to Lake Avenue for a report of a shooting at about 8:37 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Victor Quispe of Danbury.

The DPD said "preliminary information" indicates a firearm was discharged inside a townhouse, with a single round traveling through a wall and striking a neighbor who was inside their home at the time.
Police said the victim was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

The DPD said the person believed to be responsible left the scene prior to officers' arrival, and detectives are continuing efforts to locate the individual.
"This was an isolated incident, and at this time we do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community," wrote Danbury police.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional updates will be issued as information comes forth.
