Eat Bugs At Danbury Library Program This Week
The event this week will even allow brave participants to sample some entomological examples of some buggy delicacies worldwide.
DANBURY, CT — If you're hungry, Thursday's program at the Danbury Public Library may not be for you.
Then again, maybe it will be.
That's because the library is exploring a concept locally that may churn stomachs, but around the world, the practice of eating bugs is oneborne out of nutritional needs and international delicacies.

Called "Edible Insects,"the unique library program will take place on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the library, which is located at 170 Main St., Danbury.
"Discover the who, what, where, and why behind eating bugs. From mealworm spaghetti to roasted tarantula, we’ll find out why people have been eating insects and invertebrates for hundreds of years," wrote the library in an announcement.

Guests will even be able to meet some live bugs that might be on a menu somewhere, as well as some animals that eat bugs.
But there's more.
"Brave participants will have a chance to try an edible insect snack, if desired, at the end of the program. A unique and fun experience," wrote the library.
