Student Concerto Competition by Danbury Music Center

The Danbury Music Centre presents the tenth annual student concerto competition at 3 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Marian Anderson Recital Hall at the Danbury Music Centre. The winner will perform a concerto with the Danbury Symphony Orchestra on January 29, 2012.

The competition of the finalists will feature the following student musicians:
Vivien Peng, piano, from Kent
Richard Huffman, piano, from Sandy Hook
Thomas Barkal, flute, from New Milford
Alex Roehl, clarinet, from New Fairfield
Isaac Ohring, violin, from New Fairfield
Luke Wang, piano, from Danbury
Alicia Wang, piano, from Danbury
Sofia Chiarandini, violin, from Newtown
Anastasia Dolak, violin, from New Fairfield
Julian Shively, cello, from Trumbull
Alex Lampel, cello, from Newtown

Ariel Rudiakov, Music Director and Conductor of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra, and Stephen Michael Smith, Music Director and Conductor of the Danbury Community Orchestra will adjudicate.

The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the competition.
