Jalen Simmons pretty much started taking Karate before he was born. His mom was a dedicated Martial Artist and trained in Taekwondo and Kickboxing during her entire pregnancy with Jalen. Immediately after Jalen was born, we was carried to his mothers Kickboxing classes in a car seat and sat there on the edge of the mat, week after week, month after month until finally at the age of three he had his chance to put on a uniform and a white belt and begin his journey.
Since then, Jalen has trained tirelessly at his school, Connecticut Martial Arts. His instructors, Master Steven Doyon, Master Roxanne Doyon and Master Jared Dunn have been with him since the beginning.
Jalen started competing approximately four years ago and has accumulated a room full of trophies, plaques and medals. He never misses an opportunity to put on his uniform and test himself against fellow Black Belt rivals from all over the U.S.
