Danbury Citizen Police Academy Accepting Applications For Spring 2025

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Police Department is now accepting applications for the Spring 2025 Citizen Police Academy.

This free, 8-week instructional program requires a commitment of one night per week for eight weeks beginning March 18, and running through May 6. Sessions are from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Registration is required, and participants must be 21 or older and commit to the full course.

• Laws of Arrest
• Tour of Headquarters
• Crime Scene/Forensic Unit
• Police Procedure and Ethics
• SWAT & K-9 Unit
• Investigative Procedures
• Use of Force and Firearms
• Community Policing
• Traffic Unit and Accident Investigations
• Sexual Assault and Juvenile Crimes
• Court Procedures
