Danbury Firefighters Tackle Multiple Weekend Blazes

The Danbury Fire Department spent their Sunday tackling two residential blazes.

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Fire Department spent their Sunday tackling two residential blazes.

At 12:34 p.m., Engine 22 was on its way back to home base from a previous call when the crew was alerted to smoke in a nearby house on Coal Pit Hill Road. The firefighters arrived "in seconds," according to fire officials, and first responders discovered a fire on the second floor extending into the attic. Nine more local fire companies were called in, and the fire was brought under control swiftly. Danbury EMS provided Fire Scene Rehabilitation for the firefighters, and no injuries were reported.

At around 6:21 p.m., firefighters were called in to handle a fire in a house on Mabel Avenue. First responders fond a kitchen fire that extended into the walls. Five additional fire companies, along with Danbury EMS, all contributed at the scene.
